Group Exercise Class Descriptions

Body & Soul–A blending of yoga and pilates for a powerful mind & body experience. 

BodyPump®-A strength training workout set to music using barbells that can be adjusted from 3 lbs. to 91 lbs.  This workout is ideal for people of all ages and fitness levels. 

BodyPump Express-45-minute express class.  You will perform 8 tracks instead of 10. 

Gentle Pilates-For beginners seeking a gentler style of mat-basedPilates. 

Kick & Core-A 40-minute cardio segment of basic boxing combinations, jump roping and punching bag drills.   Class will end with 15 minutes of abdominal/back exercises to tone and tighten the mid-section.  This workout is recommended for intermediate to advanced fitness levels.  Padded gloves are required. 

Introduction to Kickbox-This on-going class is held on Thursday evenings at 5:30PM.  Padded gloves are optional.

Kick-N-Kombat-kickbox combinations, bootcamp style drills and strength exercises to increase speed, agility and muscular strength.  A variety of equipment will be utilized.  Padded gloves are required. 

Pilates Mat-Based-Pilates philosophy is to train and condition the body from the inside out.  By stabilizing the pelvis and training the core muscles as both movers and stabilizers, you will improve your posture, align your spine and build strength in the core region.  All levels are welcome. 

SPINNING®-This is a cycling workout in a group setting.  This class is self-paced for all ages and fitness levels.  Please arrive at least 10 minutes before class begins to set-up your bike.  Sign-up is required for all Spinning classes at the Fitness Desk no more than 45 minutes in advance.  Staff, family and friends may not sign-up another person for class.  Water bottles and heart rate monitors are required for all Spinning classes.  Monitors are available for use at the Fitness Desk or for purchase in the Pro Shop. 

SPIN & Core-45 minutes of indoor cycling followed by 15 minutes of core exercises to tone and tighten the abdominal and back muscles.

SPIN & Strength: 75 Minute Workout-45 minutes of indoor cycling followed by 30 minutes of total body strength exercises utilizing various pieces of exercise equipment.

Step Interval-Short segments of step alternated with short segments of strength exercises targeting the entire body.  Class will end with an abdominal workout and cool down.

Step & Kick-30 minutes of step/30 minutes of kickbox.  Padded gloves are required.

Step & Lower Assets- Short segments of step aerobics alternated with short segments of strength exercises targeting the lower body muscle groups such as the glute’s and thighs.  Class will end with an abdominal workout and cool down.

Total Body Strength-A non-impact, mid-intensity strength and toning workout for the entire body using a variety of resistance equipment.

Yoga-You will increase balance, flexibility and strength through yoga poses.  Learn relaxation and breathing techniques to help decrease stress, tightness and tension in the body. 

TEEN FRIENDLY GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES-Teens 13-15 yrs. of age may participate in all Group Exercise classes.  Without a dependent membership, a drop-in rate applies.  The parent should accompany the teen to class or remain in the building at all times.  Children under the age of 15 may come in anytime during the week for lap swimming only as long as they are accompanied by their parent in the pool area at all times.  Children of all ages may splash around and enjoy good times in the pool during family swim times only.  Family swim times are listed on page 3.  For more information regarding family programming, inquire at the Front Desk.

Zumba- Dance away your worries in this sizzling hot dance class featuring music from latin America and other international countries.  Your hips will move non-stop with easy-to-follow dance steps.  This is a real calorie burner!  Zumba/Step-combination of step choreography and Zumba dance grooves with an ab workout at the end.
