Group Exercise Class Descriptions
Studio Classes
Total Body Conditioning – (TBC) This invigorating class is split with half cardiovascular conditioning and strength conditioning. A Full body workout that is an ideal class for every fitness level!
Bosu Ball Class – BOSU (which is an acronym for "both sides up") is one of the newest training tools to hit the fitness industry. BOSU challenges both your mind and your body to maintain posture and balance over a dynamic surface. In this class we will combine cardiovascular and strength training with integrated balance training on the BOSU.
Step & Pump – A high energy class that will incorporate simple step choreography and strength training.
Step Jam – Enjoy a traditional experience that will incorporate intermediatelevel choreography set to great music and focusing on aerobic endurance.
Body Pump – The first phenomenon to combine the body changing results of high repetition weight training and high energy into one exercise program. Standardized to give consistent results.
Barbell Strength – Join us as we “raise the bar” in this strength training class designed for all fitness levels. We’ll use the Iron Grip Strength equipment as the primary resistance tool to improve muscular strength and endurance. (Similar to Body Pump!)
Strictly Strength Conditioning – This multi-level class is for anyone who wants to develop muscular strength and endurance. We’ll tackle basic Resistance training exercises using traditional, strategic principles. This easy to follow workout challenges every major muscle group using a variety of equipment.
Power Sculpt! – This action packed class will use all studio equipment: weights, balls, steps, tubes etc. It will give you a total body workout. The “Power Sculpt” workout will include segments of cardio interval training to further challenge your entire body!
Six Pack Attack! – 30 minute class that works your abs, backs and legs. Floor work with or without the use of the stability ball will be experienced.
Glutes & Abs – Strength and conditioning for the gluts (buttocks) and abdominal muscles. Open to all fitness levels.
TurboKick! – This interval class combines martial arts, kickboxing, and simple dance grooves in a party atmosphere, the HOT music in this class will have you hooked after one class!
No Limits! – Combine cardio kickboxing, athletic drills, low impact moves, and you have one high energy, tough cardio workout. Also, 15 minutes of core work at the end of each class.
Cardio Resistant Training – This class will alternate intervals of intermediate, choreographed cardio with strength training exercise for a full-body workout that is sure to keep you coming back for more!
SPINNING CLASSES
All participants must reserve a bike at the front desk no earlier than 45 minutes before a scheduled class. A Walkman that plays FM radio is necessary. Class area is on the track.
Cycle Extreme – Cycle Extreme is an exhilarating, multi-level cycling journey set to great motivational music. Your instructor will take you through various challenges and levels of intensity.
Cycle Endurance – Skills emphasized, include, consistent energy usage and optimum fat burning, cycling efficiency, mental focus and smooth and steady pedaling. Heart rate intensity is sustained between 65–85% of maximum heart rate.
Cycle Interval – (Formally known as All Terrain) Skills focus on utilizing interval training (recovery time between challenges). This will be a strenuous workout. Students will work aerobic as well as anaerobic. Heart rate is maintained between 65-90% of maximum heart rate.
Cycle Skills and Drills – Challenge your skill with a ride range of drills to take you to the next fitness level. All levels welcome.
Cycle Sculpt! – Get all the cardio benefits of cycling with intervals of strength training. An intense workout for all fitness levels.
FOR THE OLDER ADULT
Heart Plus – This class is intended for the cardiac rehab member, but opened to ALL members. Lightweights and bands with high repetitions are performed in a sequence to get an entire upper and lower body workout.
Heart Plus Cardio – Incorporates a low-impact cardio segment.
Better Bones – Designed for the individual with osteoporosis. Focus is on stretching, posture and balance. Lightweights and bands are used.
Posture Plus – Improve your posture in this innovative format. Enhance posture, balance, joint stability and flexibility. Light strengthening is also included with bands and tubing. This class closes with stretching and relaxation.
Heart & Bones – Learn the proper form and technique while using weights, bands, balls and tubing. This class is the combination of Heart Plus and the Better Bones classes.
MIND BODY
These classes are also offered to non-members for an additional fee.
Pilates Basics – Learn the basics of Pilates in a class appropriate for all levels of fitness. Great for beginners!
Pilates Fundamentals – Learn the fundamental movements that Pilates exercises stem from. Stabilize your shoulders and pelvis; move your ribs and establish a strong core. Open to all levels.
SheaNetics – Blends ancient contemporary movements with an Eastern philosophy, creating a stylized approach to improve the Quality of today’s western living. We combine sequences from Yoga, Pilates, Gyro Kinesis, Dance, Martial Arts, Tai Chi and others to design flowing movements that are ever changing and challenging.
Intro to Yoga – This class is designed with a gentle approach for participants with limitations. Asanas are chair assisted with emphasis on posture, breathing, flexibility and strength.
Yoga/Yoga Basics – Yoga is one of the most ancient and refined systems developed for the improvement of physical and mental health. Increase flexibility, improve strength and reduce stress through exercise and meditation. Bring balance into your life through breath work. All levels are welcome. Learn the basics of Hatha Yoga in “Yoga Basics”. In this class, you will learn the fundamentals of the ancient art of Yoga including breath work, physical exercises (asanas), relaxation and meditation.
Power Yoga/Power Yoga Basics – Nourish you mind body and spirit in an invigorating “Power Yoga” workout. Poses (asanas) are sequenced together and linked with the breath to create a flow (vinyasa) of exercise. Increase strength, improve flexibility, reduce stress and bring balance into your life with this challenging class. Prior Yoga experience is strongly recommended. Learn the basics in Power Yoga in “Power Yoga Basics”. In this class, you will learn the fundamentals of Power Yoga, including breath work, specific sequencing of exercises (asanas) and a strong internal focus.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga – Enjoy fluid graceful Vinyasa Flow Class that connects traditional yogic asanas together. Learn natural body flow, fostering a creative mix of flexibility, strength & breathing. This class will allow you to release your mind and body through movement while the breath inspires the usually static rigidly held asanas.
Nia – A joyful and exhilarating fitness practice that combines dance, yoga and martial arts. This is a low-impact, free style class.
